While not entirely in response to Kaminsky’s report of DNS poisoning PIR decided to begin an iterative rollout of DNSSEC to help protect users from DNS Cache Poisoning. DNSSEC is a technology utilizing keys or signatures to verify the validity of DNS/IP information (More information on DNSSEC at wikipedia.org)
